That’s right, ATG has gone and filled another gap in the cyber-e-tail-online lexicon and come out with “Searchandising.” All kidding aside, the folks at ATG are pretty smart, so maybe there’s something to their new offering.
A quote:
According to research firm Trinity Insight, when first arriving on the home page of an e-commerce site, 40 percent of shoppers immediately use the site’s search engine. Unfortunately, most consumers have been trained by Internet search engines to simply input a generic key word or product category, which often results in a long list of potential search results that can overwhelm shoppers and leave them yearning for other, more organized options.
Combined with Google’s announcement of small search services today, it’s possible the universe is trying to tell us all something about our sites.
